These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Team Assist web application and mobile application (collectively, the "Service") operated by Team Assist ("we," "us," or "our"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. If you are under 18, you represent that a parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf. Player roster records for minors are created and managed by adult guardians — minors do not need their own account to appear on a team roster.
2. Accounts
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials.
- You must provide accurate information when creating your account and keep it current.
- You may not share your account or allow others to access it.
- We support two-factor authentication and passkeys — we strongly encourage you to enable them.
- You may delete your account at any time from the settings page. Deletion cancels all active subscriptions and removes your personal data per our Privacy Policy.
3. Organizations, Teams & Roles
The Service is organized around organizations and teams. Organization owners and administrators have management permissions; other roles (coach, parent, player, member) have more limited access. You agree to use management permissions responsibly and only for their intended purpose — managing teams, rosters, events, and communications.
Each user receives a personal organization at registration. This organization cannot be deleted or left. Additional organizations may be created subject to your subscription tier.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law
- Harass, threaten, or abuse other users
- Upload content that is obscene, defamatory, or infringes on the intellectual property rights of others
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' accounts or to the Service's infrastructure
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its servers
- Use automated scripts, bots, or scrapers to access the Service without our written permission
- Circumvent subscription limits, feature gates, or usage allowances through technical manipulation
- Create multiple accounts or organizations to avoid plan limits
- Redistribute, publicly rebroadcast, or sublicense live-stream content without the team's permission
We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms.
5. Subscriptions & Payments
5.1 Plans
The Service offers a free tier and paid subscription plans (Coach and Club). Plan features and pricing are described on our website and within the app. We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days' notice to active subscribers.
5.2 Billing
Paid subscriptions are billed monthly or annually through Stripe (web) or Apple App Store / Google Play (mobile). By subscribing, you authorize recurring charges at the applicable rate until you cancel. The Club plan is billed based on the number of active teams in the organization. Adding teams above your already-paid capacity requires your explicit confirmation of a server-calculated billing quote and a prorated charge for the remaining current period. Team-count reductions take effect at renewal; your already-paid capacity remains available through the current paid period.
5.3 Add-Ons
Storage packs, streaming minute packs, and other add-ons are recurring monthly subscriptions that supplement your plan's included allowances. They can be purchased and canceled independently of your base plan.
5.4 Viewer Passes
Viewer passes are one-time purchases that grant time-limited access to live streams and their replays. Passes are non-transferable and tied to a single viewing session. Available pass types (game, day, week) and their prices are displayed at the time of purchase.
5.5 Cancellation
You may cancel any subscription at any time. Cancellation without an unused-time refund leaves web (Stripe) paid access available through the end of the current paid billing period. An approved unused-time refund ends the corresponding paid access. In-app subscriptions follow the cancellation policies of Apple or Google.
If cancellation, a refund, or a downgrade reduces your storage allowance below your stored media, we will send an email warning before deleting excess media. You have seven full days from successful delivery of that email to reduce storage or restore sufficient capacity. After that period, if you remain over the allowance, excess media is deleted oldest first until usage fits the current allowance. Registration documents and financial records are excluded from this excess-media cleanup.
5.6 Refunds
- Monthly web subscriptions — unused paid time is eligible for a prorated refund throughout the monthly billing period. We may decline a refund only under the fee exception below.
- Annual web subscriptions — unused paid time is eligible for a prorated refund through the first 50% of the paid billing period, including the exact midpoint. After that midpoint, no unused-time refund is available under this policy.
- Refund amount and fee exception — the proposed refund is based on the unused portion of the amount paid, accounting for prior refunds. We do not deduct the original payment processing fees. A monthly refund may be declined if a verified additional fee charged specifically to issue that refund exceeds the proposed refund amount. If that additional fee equals the proposed refund amount, the refund remains eligible.
- Viewer passes — refunds are available on request within 48 hours of purchase for broadcasts that were under 20 minutes in total duration. Refund requests outside of this window or for broadcasts exceeding 20 minutes are not eligible. Contact us to request a refund.
- In-app purchases — refunds for purchases made through Apple App Store or Google Play are handled through the respective store's refund process and policies.
- Organization registration fees — fees paid to an organization for registration or participation follow that organization's disclosed refund policy. They are separate from Team Assist subscription refunds.
Organization owners can review cancellation and any eligible prorated refund for a supported Stripe Coach or Club (organization) base plan in the organization's Billing settings. Review the quoted amount and paid-access changes before explicitly confirming. Confirming that review submits the cancellation and any quoted refund request; the request remains pending until Stripe confirms the outcome. Canceling renewal through the billing portal does not automatically issue a refund.
For unsupported payment histories, add-ons, family subscriptions, refund fees that need verification, or help with an existing request, contact support@teamassist.app.
6. User Content
6.1 Ownership
You retain ownership of content you upload to the Service (photos, videos, messages, roster data). By uploading content, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to store, process, transmit, and display that content solely to operate the Service as you direct — for example, sharing photos within a team album or delivering a live stream to authorized viewers.
6.2 Responsibility
You are responsible for the content you upload and share. You represent that you have the right to share it and that it does not violate any third party's rights. We do not pre-screen content but may remove content that violates these Terms.
6.3 Live Streaming
When you broadcast a live stream through the Service, you are responsible for having appropriate consent from all individuals captured in the stream, particularly minors. You must comply with any venue, league, or governing-body rules regarding recording and broadcasting. We are not responsible for the content of live streams.
7. Privacy
Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your information. By using the Service, you consent to the practices described in the Privacy Policy.
8. Intellectual Property
The Service, its design, branding, and underlying code are owned by us and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any right to use our name, logo, or trademarks. The software is provided as a service — no source code license is granted.
9. Third-Party Services
The Service integrates with third-party providers (Stripe, AWS, Cloudflare, Google, Apple). Your use of features powered by those providers is subject to their respective terms of service and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or practices of third-party services.
10. Availability & Changes
We strive to keep the Service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time. For material changes that affect paid features, we will provide reasonable notice to active subscribers.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
- The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied.
- We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service.
- Our total aggregate liability for any claim related to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or $100, whichever is greater.
- We are not liable for any loss of data, missed events, scheduling errors, or communication failures caused by the Service, your devices, or network conditions.
12. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your use of the Service, your content, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third party's rights.
13. Dispute Resolution
Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service will be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association, conducted individually (not as a class action). You may opt out of arbitration by notifying us in writing within 30 days of creating your account.
For small claims (under $10,000), you may instead bring the claim in your local small-claims court.
14. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State in which we are incorporated, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
15. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these Terms, with or without notice. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (Limitation of Liability, Indemnification, Dispute Resolution) will survive.
16. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you through the Service or by email at least 30 days before the new terms take effect. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
